TIME is legendary for commissioning and publishing pictures that make a difference. In 2013, I set out to make a list of the 100 most influential photos of all time. In an era when the daily profusion of new images is overwhelming, I wanted to collect images that defined and changed our world. It was a three-year process that culminated in an award-winning website, 20 short documentaries, a book, and a special issue of the magazine.
TRAILER: We produced 20 short films that told the stories behind a selection of the 100 photos. Here's the trailer.
PRINT: TIME published a 26 page portfolio on the project in the magazine, along with a cover.
EVENT: On November 16, 2016, we organized an event at the Henry Luce Theatre to screen the documentary films and hold on-stage conversations with the photographers. I interviewed the legendary Harry Benson, who made the famous Beatles photograph.
BOOK: The book we produced for the 100 Most Influential Photos project, released in November 2016, sold out in its first week.
TV: I appeared on Charlie Rose to promote the project and I was also interviewed on CBS this morning alongside Nancy Gibbs.
